Choosing the right motor for your ebike is important in order to better optimise the use that you will do. This choice does not have a right or wrong solution: you can be free to choose the right one according to your needs and how you will employ your ebike.

The rear motor is useful if you need to use your ebike in the city or on level ground. It is connected to the pedaling sensor and it gives you the possibility to ride without being tired. The motor is activated when we start pedaling and is not influenced, in most cases, by the force we put on the pedals. The majority of ebikes used for ride in cities or asphalted paths are equipe with a rear motor. The rear motor provides different benefits: the ebike is not expensive; it will be easy and reliable to ride your ebike; the ebike will have the same fluidity like a muscular bike. The motor is activated immediately and in a few time it helps you to reach the speed of 25 km/h: once you start to ride, the simple rotation of the pedals allows you to maintain the desired speed. Rear motors, generally, have 3 different levels of assistance that provide you different autonomy and speed according to which one you choose. With a rear motor you will be able to ride the most difficult hills (you should be careful because if they are too long, you will risk to put the system of battery/motor/autonomy under stress). We recommend a rear motor also for snowy roads.

You can discover our ebikes equipped with a rear motor in the ecity and especial lines.

It is recommended for:

  • riding quickly and without efforts
  • buying a reliable and cheap ebike
  • going to work without a car
